Test Stand
Operation:
The operator
inputs the valve configuration including electrical voltage,
injector, and programming. The test machine verifies the valve
function, operation and programming against the parameters input by
the operator. If the valve passes, the part number and serial number
are etched on the valve at the end of the test sequence. The etched
numbers are evedince that the valve passed the test protocols.
Tests are as
follows:
-
Gross Leak Test - pressure - determines integrity of valve body
-
Casting Leak Test - pressure - will detect leaks in Injector Plug, Drain Cap or Drain Cap O-ring, End Cap or End Cap O-ring, and Valve Body
-
Seal Leak Test - pressure - will detect leaks in Drain, Piston (Missing O-ring on drain end), and Valve Body
-
Service Test - flow - will establish service flow path and flow rate detect problems with Piston Position, Piston Seals, and Valve Body.
-
Backwash Test - flow - will establish backwash flow path and flow rate and detect problems with Piston Position, Drive Motor Operation, Piston (Seal Issue), and Valve Body
-
Brine Drain & Vacuum - flow - will establish brine draw flow path and flow rate and detect problems with Injector (Broken or missing O-ring/s), Drive Motor Operation, Piston (Seal Issue), and Valve Body
-
Fast Rinse - flow - will establish fast rinse flow path and flow rate and detect problems Drive Motor Operation, Piston (Seal Issue), and Valve Body
-
Electrical Test - Hi-pot
-
Electrical Test - Ground Bonding
Note that valves
are tested with the plugs installed at the electrical voltage they
will receive in the field. For example, 220V valves are tested at
220V with power supplied by the installed plug.
